This year, The Elephant Sanctuary celebrates 30 years of home and herd. It has been our honor to provide care to 34 elephants since 1995, and it is with deep gratitude that we reflect on this milestone and the remarkable elephants that have been impacted by YOU and your commitment to generous giving.
In October 2024, 30-year-old African bull Osh arrived, becoming the second permanent bull elephant at The Sanctuary in our three-decade history. The ability to provide home and care for bigger, male elephants like Osh is a testament to the importance of continuing to build and grow to meet the needs of all elephants, Asian and African, female and male. Over the past 30 years, The Sanctuary has grown from 110 acres to over 3,060 acres. With you and your support, we will continue providing rest and refuge for elephants while educating the public about elephants around the world.
In 2025, we will welcome female African elephant, Mikki, and female Asian elephant, Punch, from Louisville Zoo in Kentucky. These two will join Osh and other cherished residents, Artie, Edie, Flora, Nosey, Sukari, Tange, Billie, Debbie, Minnie, Ronnie, and Sissy. Our commitment to advancing elephant conservation and welfare has never been stronger.
The Sanctuary’s 30th anniversary is more than a celebration; it is evidence of the commitment to each elephant’s lifetime care and our shared dedication to innovation, sustainability, and future planning.
Help us kick off our 2025 Spring Campaign and 30th Anniversary celebration with your generous support! Be on the lookout in the coming weeks for matching opportunities and exciting ways to give.
