We were honored to host two of Jana's previous zookeepers from Zoo Knoxville, who came to see how Jana is acclimating to her new home. During their visit, Jana showcased her new habitat and pond, splashing herself at the edge of the cooling water. Everyone was excited to see Jana so active and engaged with her new surroundings.
The visit provided an excellent opportunity to collaborate with her former caregivers and learn from their experiences in caring for Jana for many years. We discussed behaviors, training, and heard more about herd mate Edie who will soon join Jana from Zoo Knoxville. Ongoing collaboration with Zoo Knoxville since Jana’s arrival two months ago is extremely helpful in providing the best care possible for her.
