At The Sanctuary, the health and safety of our staff, volunteers, animals, and community remain our highest priority. Following the guidance of the Center for Disease Control (CDC), we have temporarily suspended community and group activities at The Elephant Discovery Center.
Our professional animal care staff continue to provide the highest quality care for the elephants, and all are well.
Online learning is a fantastic way to virtually explore the world while still maintaining the health of your family and community.
The Elephant Sanctuary's Education Team offers Distance Learning programs throughout the year to teachers, classrooms, libraries, and community groups.
If your kids are home because of school closures, if you are looking for new engagement opportunities for your senior living center, or if you are just hoping to pass the time without leaving your house, connect with our Education Team to learn about how amazing and complex elephants are and how we care for them at The Sanctuary. Distance Learning is completely free of charge and is not limited to teachers — parents, families, and other individuals are welcome to sign up!
Utilizing photos, Q & A, and live-streaming EleCams in the elephant habitats, our educators will bring The Sanctuary into your home! This non-intrusive observation of the elephants provides a new type of elephant experience. All you need to schedule a Distance Learning is access to the internet and a webcam — you can connect from a laptop, tablet, or even your phone.
Distance Learning programs will be offered Monday — Friday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. CDT
To schedule Distance Learning, email The Sanctuary's Education Coordinator, Morgan Kaelin, at morgank@elephants.com.
