Nosey, Sissy, and Jana’s social herd dynamics continue to grow positively, with Asian elephant Sissy and African elephant Jana now able to share a protective fence line within their habitat. This provides the elephants at Asia Barn with even more variety in their daily habitat arrangements as well as social opportunities. African elephant Nosey, also known as the resident “social butterfly,” has been sharing direct space with Sissy often, but also takes time to meet with Jana as well. Jana and Nosey have been observed gently sparring over fence lines, while the three elephants choose to stand close to each other while resting. We truly enjoy seeing these relationships develop and look forward to sharing more with our supporters as the three become more comfortable and acquainted.
