The seamless coordination of Christmas tree deliveries, made possible by the generous contributions of our community members, could not have come at a better time.
Just after the new year, The Sanctuary, like many others across the country, faced heavy snowfall and cold temperatures. This weather prompted the elephants to spend more time in their heated barns, making the Christmas trees invaluable tools for providing enrichment during their indoor stay. The elephants have continued to take advantage of the abundance of trees, even as the weather has warmed once again, their vast habitats now adorned with scattered pine needles and remnants of broken, uneaten branches.
A big THANK YOU to everyone who donated!
