Holiday Enrichment 2017

The season of holiday enrichment is upon us—and as always, The Sanctuary’s dedicated Caregivers went above and beyond to make the elephants’ habitats festive.

Caregivers placed a Christmas tree in a sand pile in Nosey’s habitat, decorated it with orange peels and pineapple rounds and covered the base in hay.

Nosey also recieved a pumpkin decorated to look like a  snowman, which she collected, stepped on, and devoured.

Tarra discovered a culvert in her habitat that was painted to look like Frosty and filled with hay, donated pineapples, and other treats.

Minnie was added to the ‘nice’ list in Q Habitat—and found gifts filled with hay and produce.

Tange, Sukari and Flora were quick to discover the holiday hay spread throughout their habitat.

And Shirley celebrated her 69th holiday season with a tire mound full of her favorite treats.
