Happy National Vet Tech Week (October 17-23)! Playing an important role in the health care of our elephants, we wish to recognize the work of The Sanctuary’s Lead Veterinary Technician and Veterinary Services Manager, Eileen K. We celebrate her many contributions and share in her excitement on the recent completion of the Elephant Health Care Center!
Thanks to the generosity of more than 1,800 Sanctuary donors, this state-of-the-art veterinary facility allows us to better meet the growing needs of the elephants as they age and serves as a meeting space for elephant care professionals to share knowledge that will advance the future of elephant care around the world. It is the new official office of Eileen, as well as Dr. Steven Scott and Dr. Lydia Young — and a welcome change from the “temporary” small trailer that long served as headquarters for our Veterinary Team.
