Pumpkins provide valuable nutrition and seasonal enrichment for all elephants at The Sanctuary. From November 1–30, The Elephant Sanctuary invites residents of Middle Tennessee and beyond to donate unpainted, uncarved, and non-decomposing pumpkins.
While the elephants’ habitats are closed to the public, Caregivers will deliver the pumpkins to supplement foraging opportunities throughout the habitats.
Pumpkin donations can be dropped off behind The Elephant Discovery Center (27 East Main Street, Hohenwald) next to the “re-tired” elephant statue. Visitors are welcome to explore The Discovery Center’s free exhibits, open Tuesday–Saturday, 9:00 AM–4:00 PM (closed November 27–29). Help make this pumpkin season special for the elephants!
